These boots have no scuffing at all except a little bit on the right toe. My husband only wore them a few times , I think he mostly had them on in the house and then changed to yucky ones for work. The souls are clean and intact and there is no run over on the heels. Please read the the last two pictures above the complete description of the boot. What I can tell you is that it's a wonderful shade of brown. The photos that shows the word frye is actually the bottom of the boot and it's black.
